2018年6月22日(周五)上午9時(shí),受湖北大學(xué)外國(guó)語(yǔ)學(xué)院邀請(qǐng),國(guó)際譯聯(lián)法庭口譯和法律翻譯委員會(huì)主席Prof. Liese Katschinka,在人文逸夫樓A2014學(xué)術(shù)報(bào)告廳為我院師生做了題為“Legal Translation and Interpreting (LTI) in Europe: Overview”的學(xué)術(shù)講座。外國(guó)語(yǔ)學(xué)院多位骨干教師和英語(yǔ)專(zhuān)業(yè)研究生參加了次場(chǎng)講座。講座由外國(guó)語(yǔ)學(xué)院邢星老師主持。

講座中,Liese Katschinka教授從宏觀層面介紹了歐洲法律翻譯的概況,主要從以下幾個(gè)問(wèn)題展開(kāi):(1)國(guó)際LTI的制度特征。不同地區(qū)之間存在差異,制度會(huì)根據(jù)當(dāng)?shù)氐慕?jīng)濟(jì)政治、歷史文化等因素進(jìn)行不同程度的調(diào)整。這就要求譯員能夠根據(jù)當(dāng)?shù)氐奶厣M(jìn)行翻譯活動(dòng)。(2)譯員的素養(yǎng)。合格的譯員必須具備良好的雙語(yǔ)能力、跨文化素養(yǎng)和超強(qiáng)的抗壓能力。前兩者是譯員的基本功,后一個(gè)是職業(yè)性質(zhì)的要求,要求譯者必須在注意力高度集中、大腦高速運(yùn)轉(zhuǎn)的狀態(tài)下工作,同時(shí)要有能快速有效地處理各種突發(fā)狀況的能力。(3)什么是“actual practices”。 它涉及司法利益相關(guān)者協(xié)議、LIT專(zhuān)業(yè)化組織以及用戶(hù)和服務(wù)提供商之間的合作。譯員需要在實(shí)踐過(guò)程中不斷熟悉自己的業(yè)務(wù)內(nèi)容,不斷提高自己的專(zhuān)業(yè)素養(yǎng)和專(zhuān)業(yè)能力。(4)CPD對(duì)譯員的要求。CPD的形式多種多樣,主要有培訓(xùn)課程、實(shí)習(xí)培訓(xùn)和科學(xué)研究等。它對(duì)譯員的要求是終身的,只有不斷地學(xué)習(xí)充電才能不被行業(yè)所淘汰。(5)28個(gè)歐盟國(guó)家的LIT現(xiàn)狀:Liese Katschink教授對(duì)28個(gè)國(guó)家的法律翻譯現(xiàn)狀依次做了介紹,不同國(guó)家的體系各具特色。例如荷蘭有詳細(xì)的LIT數(shù)據(jù)庫(kù);愛(ài)爾蘭沒(méi)有官方譯員數(shù)據(jù)庫(kù),他們依賴(lài)專(zhuān)業(yè)組織和使館成員;又如馬耳他剛剛建立起國(guó)家LIT數(shù)據(jù)庫(kù)。總體來(lái)說(shuō),有的國(guó)家已經(jīng)有非常系統(tǒng)完善的制度體系;有的國(guó)家還在發(fā)展中,不夠健全,還有很長(zhǎng)一段發(fā)展道路。

最后Liese Katschinka教授提供了一個(gè)LTI的信息網(wǎng)站,供有興趣的師生了解更多的相關(guān)知識(shí):www.eulita.eu。現(xiàn)場(chǎng)的提問(wèn)環(huán)節(jié),老師和同學(xué)們都積極與Liese Katschinka教授交流互動(dòng)。其中安鮮紅老師問(wèn)道:“成為一名優(yōu)秀譯員有沒(méi)有什么秘訣?”教授說(shuō)譯員的路上沒(méi)有捷徑,只有——“work”,“l(fā)earn” and “practice”。來(lái)自Liese Katschinka教授的權(quán)威回答,更加堅(jiān)定了同學(xué)們朝著翻譯方向不懈努力的決心。整場(chǎng)講座氣氛融洽,Liese Katschinka教授的精彩演講獲得了全場(chǎng)聽(tīng)眾的陣陣掌聲。


【專(zhuān)家簡(jiǎn)介】Graduated from the University of Vienna, Austria, and obtained a university diploma as translator and interpreter (comparable to a master’s degree).Has been working as a free-lance conference interpreter (AIIC; German, English, French) for international organizations (UN, OSCE, Council of Europe, EU, CCBE, European and international professional organizations, multinational companies and banks) and certified court interpreter (German, English), as well as a sci-tech and legal translator throughout her professional life. Has been actively involved in a number of national and international professional associations (e.g. Secretary General of the Austrian Translators’ and Interpreters’ Association UNIVERSITAS from 1982 to 1991; Vice-President of the International Federation of Translators (FIT) from 1984 to 1987, FIT Secretary General from 1993 – 1999; Vice-President of the Austrian Court Interpreters' Association, Chairperson of the FIT Committee on Court Interpreting and Legal Translation, Member of the AIIC Court and Legal Interpreting Commission; President of EULITA (European Legal Interpreters and Translators Association) between 2009 and 2017.Was actively involved in the elaboration of quality standards for translators and interpreters (ÖNORM D 1200 and EN 15038). Currently project leader for an ISO standard on legal interpreting (FDIS 20228). Has written a large number of articles on the topics of court interpreting, quality assurance, association building, etc., for various professional journals and made over a dozen presentations on these topics at various international conferences.
