2018年6月1日（周五）上午10點(diǎn)，受湖北大學(xué)外國(guó)語學(xué)院之邀，來自北京航空航天大學(xué)的衛(wèi)乃興教授在人文逸夫樓A2014學(xué)術(shù)報(bào)告廳為外院全體師生帶來了一場(chǎng)題為“Corpora in Foreign Language Teaching and Research” 的講座。本次講座由外國(guó)語學(xué)院蔡蕾副教授主持。
此次講座主要圍繞語言學(xué)語料庫(kù)簡(jiǎn)介、語言共選、短語學(xué)以及意義移變單位四個(gè)主題展開。講座伊始，衛(wèi)乃興教授首先向大家簡(jiǎn)要介紹了Corpus linguistics的定義。其中，他引用到著名學(xué)者McEnery和 Wilson對(duì)Corpus linguistics的定義：Corpus linguistics is a study of language based on examples of ‘real life’ language use. 此外，衛(wèi)教授還指出Corpus linguistics studies的主要特征為它是借助計(jì)算機(jī)的使用以大量規(guī)范、自然、真實(shí)的語篇作為基礎(chǔ)進(jìn)行定性與定量研究與分析。與此同時(shí)，他還講到語料庫(kù)研究的分析工具及數(shù)據(jù)形式，其中包括：frequency of occurrence, concordances, collocations, patterns, key words.
講座的第二部分，衛(wèi)教授向大家講解到語言共選的相關(guān)概念，主要包括詞匯與語法、詞匯與詞匯及形式與意義的共選。他還指出語言項(xiàng)目的選擇并不是獨(dú)立的而是共同的并以 “task” 和 “job”作為例證進(jìn)行闡述。此外，衛(wèi)教授還談到單個(gè)詞語不表達(dá)主要意義、語言共選將導(dǎo)致詞形改變等主要觀點(diǎn)。
隨后，衛(wèi)教授借以例證 “commit” 向大家分別深入講解了 “phraseology” 和 “phraseological unit” 的定義：phraseology is the study of recurrent co-selections of word forms in integration with their formal semantic and functional features; a phrase is an extended unit of meaning, a functionally complete unit and a unit of analysis.
最后，在談到意義移變單位(Meaning Shift Units)，衛(wèi)教授首先提出相關(guān)研究成果：1.語言共選將導(dǎo)致詞形的改變；2.每一種新的語言共選形式將會(huì)產(chǎn)生新的意義；3.語篇是由不同的意義移變單位所構(gòu)成；4.說話者可以通過選擇新的詞組形式從而構(gòu)建新的意義。除此之外，他還向大家介紹了五種可構(gòu)成意義移變單位的形式：1.core; 2.collocation; 3.colligation; 4.semantic preference; 5.semantic prosody.
整場(chǎng)講座學(xué)術(shù)氛圍濃厚。講座的最后，蔡蕾副教授對(duì)此次講座進(jìn)行了總結(jié)，通過衛(wèi)乃興教授由淺入深并借以例證作為支撐來講解相信大家對(duì)于語料庫(kù)的研究、短語學(xué)、詞匯共選有了更加直觀、深刻的認(rèn)識(shí)，受益匪淺。最后，講座在陣陣掌聲中圓滿落下帷幕。
專家簡(jiǎn)介：Wei Naixing is Professor of English and Director of the Research Institute of Linguistics Science and Engineering at Beihang University, China. He holds a MA in English degree of Birmingham University and a Ph.D in Linguistics degree of Shanghai Jiao Tong University. He is on the Editorial Board for the Journal of Foreign Languages and Their Teaching, the Journal of Contemporary Foreign Language Studies, the journal of Corpus Linguistics and the journal of PLA Foreign Language University. Wei Naixing has served as Professor of English at Shanghai Jiao Tong University, and Adjunct Professor at Huazhong University of Science and Technology, Chongqing University, Graduate University of Chinese Academy of Sciences, and Beijing University of Technology. He is a founding member of the Corpus Linguistics Society of China (CLSC) and served as its Chairman from April 2009 to April 2017. In 2010 he transferred to Behang University in the capacity of Outstanding Professor in Humanities.
Wei Naixing's major research interests cover corpus linguistics, phraseology, English for academic purposes, discourse analysis and contrastive studies of English and Chinese. He has directed 4 National Social Science Fund research projects and 2 Ministry of Education 985-Fund research projects. He has published 6 monographs and 50 research papers.
